This month we have a special request; we are looking for a volunteer OB admin and coordinator to ensure smooth operations and comprehensive patient care throughout the OB process at the clinic.

Here is a full job description:
- Review OB documents and ensure they are scanned and attached to the patient’s record.
- Maintain the OB spreadsheet to ensure appointments are not missed.
- Schedule patients to apply for Medicaid and follow up on approval.
- Arrange transportation for Medicaid patients to ensure they have rides to clinic or other appointments.
- Fax referrals to WIC, Healthy Families, and Gabriel Project as appropriate.
- Assist in coordinating referrals for patients needing support with domestic violence, housing, food pantries, etc.
- Schedule ultrasounds at the beginning of the pregnancy and at 20 weeks; follow up to confirm completion and obtain reports.
- Schedule glucose tolerance tests for all patients and obtain results.
- Obtain weekly glucose logs from gestational diabetic patients for provider evaluation and medication needs.
- Ensure gestational diabetic patients attend classes and understand glucose monitoring.
- Ensure labs are completed and results documented; follow up with labs if results are missing.
- Schedule Non-Stress Tests/Biophysical Profiles (NST/BPPs) with UVA/Sentara and ensure results are in the patient’s chart for provider review.
- Schedule c-sections and post-date inductions.
- Fax records to the delivery facility prior to the patient’s delivery.
- Assist in transfer coordination if needed.
- Schedule and coordinate baby showers (quarterly).
- Ensure all patients have their postpartum appointments scheduled.
- Schedule Natural Family Planning (NFP) classes before and after delivery.
We are always in need of volunteers, including medical providers with any specialties, but particularly OB, interpreters, front office volunteers, and scribes.
