I write on the glorious Solemnity of the Annunciation with a quick update on the Mother of Mercy Clinic.
As you know, the second clinic in Woodbridge has opened and Prenatal care is being offered at both clinics now! We are actually about to receive a 2nd Ultrasound machine (thanks Knights!) which is even more technologically advanced than the first one. Alexandra is currently seeking an Ultrasound tech volunteer; this will free up the Obstetrician to spend more time in appointments with Moms.
The Woodbridge clinic has a wealth of volunteers, primarily because of the location (accessible from various other towns). However, we are struggling to fill a hired administrator position.
In Manassas, on the other hand, the Covid situation has decimated our administrative volunteer staff. That clinic is down to just about 2 administrative volunteers. So the need is huge and I urge you to either consider helping if you can, or reaching out to someone who might feel called to help for a few hours a week. Grant funding is also being sought for an obstetric nurse so OB services can be expanded. Right now, the OB doctor sees everyone; her time will be stretched further with the assistance of a nurse. Please pray for a positive outcome for the grant decision.
If you have room in your prayers, would you consider spiritually adopting one of our Moms and her baby? We can get you a name of someone in particular spiritual or physical need. Just respond to this email or click here and we will send you a name.
Thank you for all your past support of the Mother of Mercy Clinic. Especially as economic hardships have increased for many, we are serving our neighbors in a vital way. Many of our patients would fall through the cracks otherwise because they don’t qualify for government assistance. May God bless you for your generosity.
